CNC Programmer Engineer

CNC Programmer Engineer

Primary Function:

Provide programming and machining expertise in support of our clients’ requests. Program, set up and operate machinery for the fabrication of parts.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC programs using MasterCAM for mills based on engineering drawings and models.
  • Configure tools and ensure efficient production.
  • Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data in order to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
  • Occasionally set up and operate CNC equipment.
  • Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure - parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements.
  • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work.
  • Read Instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts that are being machined within a .001 tolerance.
  • Communicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality.
  • Carry out other duties reasonable within capability as required by the Machine Shop Manager.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

  • High School or GED Diploma required - Associates Degree or Certification in related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience with CNC programming, and operating a CNC machine.
  • Experience programming in MasterCAM.
  • Must have a proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines.
  • Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices and be able to select tooling and machining resources for manufacture of parts.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities.
  • Able to read instrumentation and gauges for measurement purposes.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Able to work under own initiative.
  • Flexible, courteous, friendly and positive approach.

CNC Swiss Turn Machinist

Next Generation Precision Machine LLC (NGPM), an IPSUMM company, is a complete source of machining from prototype to large production runs including electro-mechanical assemblies. We seek an experienced swiss turn machinist to become part of our team.


  • Successful candidate will be responsible for set-up and operation of Star CNC screw machines.
  • Essential Functions:
  • Reads and interprets blue prints and hand drawn sketches
  • Creating own programming
  • Reviews specifications to determine setup procedures, machining sequences, and dimensions of finished work piece
  • Determines proper tooling to complete job
  • Measures parts for conformance to specifications, if discrepancies are found, completes discrepancy report
  • Maintains high level of quality of job throughout the manufacturing process.

Production Scheduler Machine Shop

Production Scheduler Machine Shop



The primary responsibilities of the Machine Shop Production Scheduler are scheduling, coordinating and monitoring jobs to ensure efficient operations and cycle time to meet quality standards and to enable on time delivery, while maximizing resources and supporting company objectives. Also, maintaining proper inventory levels and improving customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Machine Shop Manager.


  • Organizes production schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment.
  • Develops realistic, detailed production schedules and conducts critical path analyzes to support program planning and continuing performance evaluation
  • Maintains, coordinates and monitors performance of the daily and weekly schedule for all areas in the shop including the review of available capacity and priorities
  • Communicates and distributes production schedules and work orders
  • Confers with the production team and sales to set promise dates for new orders.
  • Acts as a liaison sales and the shop floor. Confers with machinists and others to assess progress and discuss needed changes. Revises production schedule when necessary
  • Evaluates production requirements and shop capacity data to assign, coordinate, and ensure appropriate staffing levels for jobs
  • Analyzes plans, lot sizes, lead times, and replenishment strategies in order to balance inventory investment, customer service, and productivity
  • Manages WIP and job kit area 
  • Ensures timely preparation and submission of status and progress reports and related data required
  • Develops reports and techniques to monitor production program schedule variances against the plan and current forecasts
  • Works with the production team to identify, develop, and implement efficiency improvements for the company
  • Follows company policies and procedures including ISO and Safety
  • Leads / supports manufacturing projects and production (New Product Development / Technology).
  • Supports Manufacturing in delivering quality product to the customer on time.
  • Analyzes technical manufacturing problems in the manufacture of machine parts, assemblies, fabricated and purchased items and provides solutions to maintain efficient flow of product.
  • Analyzes manufacturing problems and customer issues related to design, process and function, and interfaces with all aspects of engineering personnel to give prompt corrective solutions.
  • Implement and monitor cost savings initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts
